Aïre WWTP: Extension of the largest wastewater treatment plant in Switzerland

17.01.2024 · News

We are delighted to be contributing to the extension of Switzerland's largest wastewater treatment plant - the STEP d'Aïre - as part of SIG's Smart City project.

The Aïre WWTP currently treats water from part of the Geneva canton as well as neighbouring France. The architectural objective is to support and integrate the new high-tech facilities into a high-quality natural environment. With planning permission granted in August 2023, work began on the site at the end of October of the same year.

Congratulations to our partners BG Ingénieurs Conseils and AFRY. Construction work on this major extension is now under way.
